“ So as a foodie, I like to think I have an eclectic pallet and give honest reviews of the ambiance, location, food, service and experience. This one will be somewhat biased because I've been coming here since 1995 and anytime anyone wants sushi this is the place I refer them to. It might not look like the most fanciest of places being in a small strip mall, but don't let the look or location fool you. Anytime someone says they had good sushi my reply is always "not at good as Sakana's I bet". I've stood by my favorite restaurant since the 1st day I've been here and will continue to do so until they close or I'm dead . I've been to all of the other Sakana's in the valley to gauge how well they stack up against our Ahwatukee location and can honestly say their chefs and the best. Quality product, craftsmanship, service is what they deliver time and time again and is why I recommend them to anyone who will listen. Last night was no different in what we love about this restaurant and totally made our evening. ”

“ Good sushi, best for its fusion rolls, and they have very good lunch specials. It's always busy at lunchtime and dinner time, so that's always a good sign when it's a popular local restaurant. It doesn't compare to some of my favorite spots in the Ahwatukee area, so I've only eaten in here a few times and also ordered take-out a few times over the years. I've been happy with the dining-in experiences, less so with the take-out. It has a casual vibe and a nice atmosphere because it is full of locals. I would recommend trying it, it is one of the most popular sushi places in the Ahwataukee area. ”

“ Respect for their inventive rolls! Sakana is legit great sushi. Also a great bang for your buck. I've been to a handful of sushi places in Phoenix now, and this has been the most impressive so far. The atmosphere is really fun and playful, too. You can go casually or get dressed up to go as well. My friends and I got the salmon bomber roll, baked scallop roll, eel dragon roll, and a fresh salmon roll that I did not try, regrettably. Also got the agedashi tofu as an appetizer. My favorite was the salmon bomber roll because it's so flavorful and has a spicy kick at the end. The baked scallop roll is enormous! Loved the mountain of stuff on top of it. Also love love love anything eel, so I devoured the eel dragon roll. They don't take reservations, so I recommend you arrive within thirty minutes from opening for dinner; otherwise, you'll likely have a forty-five minute wait. ”
“ I've been a fan of Sakana since high school! Always know you are gonna have great food and service. If you get a chance to have George as a waiter, you are in for a treat. He is kind, helpful, attentive, and full of suggestions. With everything going on in the world, they have gonna above and beyond to make sure everyone is safe but that you get great food. They have amazing take out deals ($14 for nigiri and a roll!) and communicate everything well. We love Sakana! ”
